Blue-faced parrot finch losing feathers and has bold spots

He is being plucked by the other two for the neck, and he may be plucking himself on the belly. I suggest you remove him to another cage where he will be safe, and you can keep an eye on him to see if he's plucking himself.

Never put two females and one male in cage together anyway as this can cause all kinds of rivalry. Same with two males and one female. Pairs are two not three, so keep with nature's plan by having only one pair to a cage.

For now, remove him from cage and set him up in another cage that is large enough so he can fly.

If you see him plucking his feathers, this may indicate that he is ill. You'll need to take him to be examined by an Avian Vet in your driving area. Infections are highly contageous, so if he turns out to have one, then the two females will also have to be diagnosed and treated to keep them from passing infection around and around.

Thanks for writing,
Linda
