is anti biotic necessary for australian parrots

Editor's note: If you want people to see and answer, you need to post a question, not an answer here to another question, at Parrot Questions. Only your Avian Vet can determine if your bird needs an antibiotic.

breeding problem

There can be many problems, and I'll try and put down the most important ones.

Diet is the most important, and your birds need to be eating high quality organic pellets like Harrison's found here.

Light is another issue. Birds need full spectrum light for about 12 hours a day during breeding. Full spectrum lighting can be given by using full spectrum light bulbs in fixtures that hang above cage. Full spectrum lights like Vital-Lamps are the only REAL full spectrum. Light coming in a window is NOT full spectrum.

Cage size should be very roomy with the proper nest box type for your birds. Nothing needs to be put into nestbox unless you use unprinted, clean newspaper.

Also, both birds have to be examined by an Avian Vet ONLY, to make sure they are healthy before beginning any breeding program. Find an Avian Vet Birds with infections will prouce babies with infections, and they will die. You also need to know how to handfeed baby parrot handfeeding formula using a syringe in case mother does not feed correctly.

So, most important things are diet, full spectrum light and healthy birds. Hope this helps you.
