Budgie dropping green

2 days ago my budgie's poop started turning out light green with white and after it dried it would be dark green with white. Is he sick? If so what kind of sickness? And will he be okay? 4-7 month old male budgirigar parakeet. I live in CT.

I don't give him millet often, regular variety seed every 2 days, tap water everyday, fruits/veggies once a week. Clean dropping tray once every 3 days, wash his cage once a week, give him a bath once a week. Anything wrong?!?!?
First time bird owner... I've had him for 2 months now.
How to treat him if he's sick? I love him a lot!!!

If you answer it would be awesome!!!! :)

Budgie with droppings changing
by: Tracie

Dr B can't tell you if your bird is sick without an examination. If his poop has changed color permanently, not just after feeding a certain food, then it is cause for concern.

Please read our Switching Birds To Pellets article written by an avian vet. The diet you described for your bird will cause health problems. Please Find an Avian Vet for your bird.

Your budgie should be eating about 60 - 70% Harrison's or Roudybush pellets and only 30 - 40% healthy treats. The treats need to be free of chemicals, due to their tiny organs that will be stressed trying to filter out the bad stuff.
