Blood Loss can be very serious!
by: Anonymous

Hi, so sorry to hear about your budgie, please take him/her to the vet. You do need to control the bleeding. They are so tiny that any blood loss can be fatal. You want to prevent any more bleeding and make sure you get him/her to the Avian as soon as possible. Good luck!

Budgie bleeding
by: Tracie

You can dab some flour on it, but you need to take the bird to an avian vet to find out what is causing it to pick and get treatment. If the bird is bleeding a lot, flour will not help. Your bird is suffering, so please do NOT delay in getting the bird to an avian vet.

You can puchase a bird first aid kit at this link: Bird First Aid Kit

Here is an article written by our avian vet about feather picking birds:
Feather Damaging Behavior article

Please use this Find an Avian Vet link to find an avian vet for your bird so it can be examined to determine what is wrong and what the potential treatment might be.
