budgie wants to be out of cage

I have a pair of over two year old healthy budgies. I remove them out of their cage for 2-3 hours almost everyday, but now for the past few days the female wants to be out of the cage all the time, it sits on the outside of the cage.She is very smart, is able to open all the different types of openings of the cage to come out on its own, and has also hurt itself by doing so. I dont know what to do.

Budgie escaping

You CAN fix the doors so that the budgie can not escape. You can get some non toxic wire that you can twist through the doors and there is no way the bird can untwist them from the outside.

In the US, they sell cage locks that can not be opened by birds, maybe you will find something like that in India.

If all else fails, purchase a new cage that does not have doors that the bird can open.
