budgie with stooped neck

please can anyone advise why my budgies neck has stooped ? he is no longer able to lift his head to a normal position, and seems to be getting worse over time.

what is causing this? as I do not think he has been injured ? can it be corrected? is it an illness or genetic? I ask as his sibling is also starting to drop his head, and I don not know why, or if I can do anything to help / prevent.

YOU NEED TO GET BOTH BIRDS INTO AN AVIAN VET IMMEDIATELY! What you are describing could be poisoning, and every moment you delay can sign a death sentance to both birds.

PLEASE, PLEASE call an Avian vet and bring these birds in as an emergency as this sounds like poisoning.

Birds can be poisoned by many things in the home. Hairspray, room deoderizers, fingernail polish and remover, sprays that are under pressure that release fluorocarbons into the air. The list is endless.

Food can also poison birds, so they need to eat only bird food and no human table food.

This is an emergency, and if you do not act and call a vet, both birds will die. You must find out what kind of poison they have either breathed and/or ingested. Vet can do blood tests to see what it may be.

Your birds will die shortly if you do not do anything, and they may die anyway. You will need to find out what it is and where it came from if this turns out to be poison.

If birds die, take to vet immediately for a necropsy which is like a human autopsy so you can find out what did this. Dead birds need to be taken in immediately without delay for a necropsy, so just do it. Get no other birds until you know what happened here.

The Avian vet will help you, and there is nothing we can do to help you except tell you what you should have already done.
