Building Aviary

We are building an outdoor aviary for our blue crown conure. I was wondering if anyone knows the best material to use for the wire/netting. I am trying to do some research on Bird Netting made out of polypropylene that has a uv coating used for keeping birds out of crops.

I can't find anything on whether it is toxic to the birds and if it durable enough to withstand a conure chewing on it. If anyone has an opinion on what I should use, it would be very helpful.
Thanks! Stacy

Safe avairy materials

This is not durable for a parrot. Also some of these coated wires contain toxic metal. Your best bet is stainless steel wire. It is available. It is the safest you can get. Any coated wire could contain toxic metals.

Hello Stacy,

I am hoping to have an answer from our vet about this today or tomorrow. Sorry it has taken so long for me to think about him maybe knowing the answer!
