CAG Vomitting

I have just purchased a 10 week old Congo African Grey. After his first feed at home, we noticed that he was throwing up. Is this normal? Also, when he falls of to sleep, his head falls straight back which looks very uncomfortable. It almost seem like his neck is broken. Is this normal.

Your bird is very sick and will die shortly. Either find an Avian Vet ONLY in your area or take him back to where you bought him. Greys are not even started on the weaning process until they are 3 months old, and then it is a process that takes time.

In this case, he needs to be seen by an Avian Vet, not a dog and cat vet, an Avian Vet. They are the only vets who are licensed and trained in the care of birds and can make a diagnosis and treatment plan for your bird.

There is something very wrong with this bird, so do not wait to find an avian vet or take him back where you got him. He will die shortly, so move fast.

Thanks for writing and I hope he lives to be a happy healthy bird, but it sounds as if he's very, very sick right now.

Please use this Find an Avian Vet link to find an avian vet for your bird so it can be examined to determine what is wrong and what the potential treatment might be.
