Caique Rubbing on towels

Whenever I let my 3 year old Caique play around on the ground, he will sometimes get into my bath towels and then he furiously rubs his body all over them!! Back and forth back and forth...He flips around on his back and rubs against the towel scratching his back like a bear would on a tree lol!!I do not understand this behavior..it is extremely funny to watch, but any idea why he might do this?? Anybody else out there who has a Caique, have you ever observed the same behavior?!
