Can Conures and Cockateils breed?

My daughter has a Green Cheeked Conure and a Cockatiel. The Conure wants to be with the cockatiel. The question is can they mix?

possibly not

BUT not entirely impossible. To say they 'cannot' breed is not actually proven. Here in the wild we do actually have a number of different species of parrot that do on occasion breed with one another & this only happens when their own numbers of species are down. These are wild parrots, not captive bred. It's quite common to see it however most are not able to reproduce themselves & these birds do it out of the urge & need to breed. And we have had a number of varying size parrot species do this as well as similar size. We also believed it was impossible until we started to see it for ourselves. Anything IS possible to start with but it is not likely. It is also not responsible to let them try. If they are very bonded to one another they are most likely to try. This could cause problems for them both if they do. As already said, supervise both while out & don't encourage this sort of behaviour with them.

Conure and Cockatiel can not breed

They can not breed and produce chicks, but they should not be put together in the same cage either. It is fine for them to play together 100% supervised only.
