Male parrots sleep
by: Anonymous

I Have two small parrots a male and a female.the male parrot always tucks his head in its wings and sleeps.does that mean that he needs darkness ?

Editor's note: If you want people to see and answer, you need to post a question, not an answer here to another question, at Parrot Questions . Birds seem to enjoy tucking their head in their wings, it is normal.

Light
by: Renie

At night cover the cage with a blanket - they know this is the difference between day and night. They should be put into a warm environment - parrots catch cold very easily and most of the time it's fatal.

Parrots need a time of darkness
by: Tracie

I feel your good heart, in providing a warm light to keep your birds warm.

This is not a good idea, your birds do need to have a time of darkness. Yes, birds take naps during the day, in the light, but need a natural day and night time phase. Please either purchase a safe heater or bring your bird inside. If you can't do either, then I suggest you find a home for your birds where they can be warm and get the rest they need to stay healthy.
