Can you keep rabbits and galahs in the same cage?

Hi there, I was wondering if we built a big avery for our galah, could we keep our rabbit in the bottom - Do galahs and rabbits live happily together?

This is not a good idea as there are too many health and safety issues with having birds and animals together. Birds have only gram positive bacteria in their bodies, while we, rabbits and all other animals have gram negative. Gram negative bacteria is what causes infections in birds, so your Galah would most likely be sick all the time. Too many antibiotics also makes birds sick and causes fungal infections which then have to be treated with anti-fungal meds which are extremely hard on anyone's body.

It would be far better to have a place for the rabbit, possibly in cage next to bird or where they can see each other and bird will be safe.

I would NOT advice putting the two together. Rabbit's saliva can be toxic to a parrot, just the same as a cat's saliva or claws.
