Canary acting like she has a cold

by Rachel

My canary is breathing like she has a cold,u can literally hear some mucus or snot in her poor beak :( I went to an avian vet before and they said it was probabably from all the dust and stuff they found when they quitip swabbed or something) in her mouth. But its worse and when she cheeps its quiet and you can hear a bubbling noise(like when we have a cold and breathe in from our nose) She has to open her beak to breathe mostly, and sometimes she does it really wide and "sniffles" really loudly.

yes my avian vet did, the poop test, culture test, blood count test, swab of her spit etc. She took some mite stuff just in case and something else.

Canary sounds sick

Either call the avian vet you took the bird to, if you still trust them, or use this Find an Avian Vet link to find a new avian vet.

Your bird should not be sent home sounding like this. Did they do a culture on the swab to make sure there was not an infection?

Dr B can not help, because he would need to do a culture to tell you what is wrong.
