canary bird red spots

My female canary has starting to have red spots around her eyes and a bit around the nose..could that be a problem? if yes, what should I do to help her.

Sometimes new emerging feathers will have red tips. I recommend that you have your bird examined by an avian veterinarian before attempting any treatments.

This may be some kind of parasite or fungal infection. You have to take your bird to be examined, diagnosed and treated by an Avian Vet in your area. Do not bother with dog and cat vets as they are not licensed or trained to serve the medical needs of birds.

Do not use any over the counter medicines including those found in pet stores. You cannot treat an illness or parasite until an avian vet has told you what it is and written a prescription for meds to get your bird well.
