Captain Corky the Budgie

Corky slipped in a wine glass....
Corky came into our lives 8 years ago and it has never been the same since! Corky is a green male Budgie hatched October 1998. He may "only be a Budgie" but they are much smarter than anyone realizes.
Corky has a vocabulary of at least 150 words at any given time and can easily say four to 5 word phrases. He drops some words when he picks up new ones! He can even tell each family member apart from the way he reacts and responds to you when called or when you enter the room, etc. He has been trained by my daughter to fly to you when called.
Corky loves his lettuce, talking and feeding his favourite toys! He brings joy to the home because he is always chirpy and happy! There is nothing more pleasurable then opening the front door to his excited welcome home chirps!
Be it known that Budgies can get themselves in all kinds of trouble just like the big parrots! When you look at the picture of him included here it was lucky my daughter was at home at the time! She was drinking water out of a wine glass when Corky decided he was going to have try some too, only he fell in and she had to rescue him out. (This picture is a re-enactment of what he looked like the first time!)
Corky likes our Sun Conure too but she is not quite so fond of him!
