Carbon Steel Wok safe for birds?

by Anonymous

I understand that use of non-stick cookware can emit dangerous fumes for my cockateil. I found a "carbon steel" wok, which has "natural non-stick" qualities. Would you think this appears to be just as dangerous for my cockateil?

If the steel is not coated with a non stick surface, then it should be safe. I recommend not having a bird in your kitchen while cooking anyway because overheating oil can smoke and any fumes are harmful, to birds.
