Chicken with lumpy mass

by Kay

My Ameraucana Chicken in the last couple of days has had a lumpy mass form on her left underside(Subcutaneous) inbetween her left leg and her breastbone. I believe that to be near her ovaries. It is not hot to the touch and does not smell. It seems to hinder her walking a little. When I push on it (gently) she does not squirm or flinch. So I do not know if hurts her or not.

She has not been laying eggs very frequently for the past two weeks, and about 4 or 5 days ago her egg laying has completely stopped. Her appetite as well has dropped. She has been infrequently passing very liquidy droppings that have the white urine and just a little bit of feces, but the rest is very watery. Her vent area is clean.

Do you have any thoughts or suggestions on what it might be???

Thank you for taking the time to read this, I appreciate it.

P.S I know it is not a parrot, but I thought you might be able to help.

Chicken needs an avian vet
by: Tracie

Dr B will answer chicken questions, but not when the chickens are sick and need to be seen in person. Dr B can't possibly help your chicken or tell you what is wrong without an examination.

Please Find an Avian Vet for your bird.
