Why does my quackor parrot chirp non stop all day? He is happy and we give him attention all the time and he goes to bed at 9:00 p.m. and he gets up around 5:30 a.m. No one is home during the day, there is school and work. He does eat people food. If we don't give him any, he will chirp. His chirping is loud and really annoying. Why does he chirp all the time and how can we get him to stop?

Chirping bird bugging you
by: Tracie

Hello Sarah,

I do not know why your bird chirps all day, but that and screeching is a bird's way of communicating. Some birds are more needy than others. Maybe he just wants to be out of the cage with you or wants you to come over and spend some time with him?

Our birds make a ton of noise when we eat too. Remember that you are a part of THEIR flock. That means they want to do what the rest of the flock is doing. Watch the birds out side, when one bird finds something good the others come to share.

Quakers can be very noisy birds, so noise just comes with the territory.
