Clump of poo at bum.

my budgie is female and about 4 shes rescued and in a large cage with a male , she has had a large clump of poo on her bottom which i took of and i placed her in warm water and washed her bum it looks a lot better now it is clean and dry and she is eating and chirpy her poos looked normal just clumped do you know what would have caused this . We have had them both since they were about 6 month old and shes never had this before.
