Cockateel droppings

I brought my baby Cockateel home yesterday and this morning I noticed that the droppings are yellowish with a bright green spot. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

No, this is not what dropping usually look like. They poop every few minutes, if they are eating and drinking properly, so put some white paper towels under the grate and see what they look like next hour.

If your bird eats colored pellets, then this will sometimes cause weird colored poop. Please read this Switching Birds To Pellets article to convert your bird to a healthy pellet diet right away. Colored pellets can cause all kinds of health problems due to the chemicals and sugar in them.

If your bird still has strange poops, then call the breeder and take the bird back. If your bird did not come with a guarantee of good health, which basically means an avian vet has examined the bird and it is healthy, then find someone else to purchase a bird from.
