cockatiel droppings

My cockatiel has recently started pooping large amounts. also she has become more aggressive in her cage. Does this mean she may be ready to lay an egg?

Cockatiel droppings before laying an egg
by: Tracie

If your bird is going to lay an egg, you will know soon because the egg only takes about a day and a half to form and be laid. Sometimes when a bird is about to lay, the droppings are less frequent and big, but your bird could be fine or have something else wrong. Keep an eye on her.

If your bird is not eating 80% high quality pellets like Harrison's then it could become egg bound when laying eggs. If you see your bird sitting and straining and nothing coming out, then call your avian vet right away.

Thanks for noticing the change in your bird, keep watching and if things don't change take her to your avian vet.
