cockatiel nesting

I have an artificial clutch in the cage so that she does not lay eggs. When not in the cage she still looks for nesting places. Will she lay eggs outside of the cage.

If you are allowing her the freedom to wander all over the house, she's going to not only lay eggs, but get killed. If she is able to fly, then take her to an Avian Vet only and have her wings clipped. Have the first 4-6 Primary Flight feathers clipped and no more. These are the long feathers at the ends of each wing. Do not allow them to cut any higher as this causes chronic pain and bird falls like a rock causing injury. Her wandering the house is unhealthy because she can get into all kinds of trouble including poisoning herself by eating something toxic. Floors are also dirty with all kinds of bacteria brought in on people's and pet's feet, so no matter how clean a floor looks it is always dirty.

Do not take your bird to a pet store for the wing clipping and do not take her to a dog groomer either. Neither of those people know what they are doing with birds and will cause harm to your bird. Always use a licensed and trained avian vet for all your birds' needs.
