Take bird to an avian vet ASAP
by: Tracie

Please take your bird to an Avian Vet if you suspect blood is in it's nostrils. Dr. B will not be able to help a bird without seeing the bird and running tests.

First, most birds rub their beaks on perches, wood, or most any object to clean their beaks from food particals or even to help file them. Are you sure it is not coloring from wood that has the nostrils red in coloring? It would be a good thing to take your bird to the vet and let them determine exactly what the redness is (Whether or not it is blood). Better safe than sorry.
