Cockatiel Sneezing

Hi, I've been keeping a male cockatiel since last year. It doesn't sneeze very often. But today, when i was carrying it, he sneezed on my chin. Fluids came out of his nose. It was just transparent fluid. The fluid was on my chin.

Will i be infected with Psittacosis? Or my cockatiel is suffering with some form of disease. He eats well and does not sneeze very often.

Does your bird have Psittacosis?

If your bird has not seen an avian vet, then you should take your bird to see the vet to get vaccinated and find out if your bird is healthy.

Birds sometimes sneeze after they drink because they get water in their nares and want to get it out. It is likely that is what happened with your bird if the bird does not normally have fluid coming out of it's nares.
