Some days my Amazon has loose, some days nice and green and hard (heehee) depending on what she preferred to eat, I believe. Cheerios make one poo, nuts and raisins another. Fresh fruit, whoo.

Firstly, you cannot send a bird's stool to vet and expect a very good answer. Your bird is in need of being seen in person by an Avian Vet as soon as you can get it in. The loose stools will result in severe dehydration, and your bird can die from that, so do not delay.

The reason the Avian Vet has to see your bird is that they not only check the backend of the bird and the stool, they also have to check the bird's throat for bacteria. When this bacteria is found in the throat, the vet will be able to identify it and prescribe the correct medicine for the infection. There is always some bacteria in the stool, so this is not a good test in the first place.

Please DO NOT DELAY GETTING THIS BIRD MEDICAL TREATMENT AS HE CAN DIE FROM THIS UNCHECKED, UNDIAGNOSED AND UNTREATED INFECTION.

Thanks for writng,
Linda
