Cockatiel with red eyes and nostrils.

Hi! I have a 6-months-old, possibly male, lutino cockatiel. He's molting, by the way. It's been about 4 days that I've noticed that his left eye's eyelids are red and that his nostrils are a little bit red. He doesn't sneeze much, but when he does there is a lot of discharge. He's on a pellet based diet and, as much as I try, he refuses to eat vegetables and fruits (he only likes the dried fruit that come with his pellets.)

His droppings are very small, dark and dry sometimes, or large and dark moss green, and sometimes they are very watery. His droppings used to be fairly consistent and coil normally. I also have a slight impression that his urine is greenish.

Besides that, he's acting like a normal healthy bird; he's eating, drinking and sleeping normally. Ever since he started molting he's been really cranky, hissing and opening his wings at everything. Should I be worried? Should I take him to his vet? I am so paranoid about his health! He's my little baby bird! Please help me.

Thank you, Isabella.

ps: He was tested for parrot fever and parasites about 2 months ago and everything was negative.

That's your solution for hundreds of dollars for a vet when other anonymous people have given vet advice for free. Seriously, this site sucks for advice. If you post a comment for any issue, be sure it will suggest that you "Ask a vet." My parakeet died and all you could say was "find a vet." When I clearly stated I had NO MONEY for a vet!!!!

Please Find an Avian Vet for your bird, if the vet you use is not a bird vet.

Red eyes and discharge is not a part of the molt. These are signs of either an allergy or illness. Dr B can not tell you without examining your bird, and suggests you take your bird to an avian vet for an exam right away.
