Many things can cause this. One is an injury, two is sitting on the wrong kind of perches. The dowel rods that come with cages need to be discarded and replaced with safe natural wood branches the correct sizing for your bird's feet and inside size of cage, and they can be found in pet stores and on the internet at places selling bird accessories. The wooden dowels are all the same size which can cause foot and leg cramps and will cause early onset of arthritis.

To know which you have you will have to make an appointment with an Avian Vet so they can examine bird's foot. It they think it's broken, they will need to do an xray to see where the break is and if it is the whole foot or a toe. Please do not wait on this examination as your bird is in pain all the time, so please help it to feel better.
