cockatiel

by antoinette morphew
(albuquerque nm)

I have a cockatiel that is approx 2 1/2 yrs old. ever since we had adopted, he has never made a sound...chirping or whistling. he had what we thought was a cold because his hisses sounded wet. he has gotten over that and he sounds fine now. we were told that he wouldnt make any sounds until he was at least 1 to 1 1/2 yrs old. but now he still not making any noise. he looks like hes trying but nothing ever comes out. what do you think could be going on here?? could he be still sick??

Yes, he could still be sick. You need to have him examined by an avian veterinarian. This could be bacterial infections, fungal infections, or even abnormal anatomy.
