Cockatoo lost voice

by Michele

Our bare eyed cockatoos voice is minimal. Just began within last few hours after a 2 hour takeoff; this is the 1st time shes flown away. She retd back to our deck and flew into the house (we left sliding door wide open)

I am sure it's nothing, hoping this is just stress related, and doing a little Internet research in the meantime.

Any assistance is appreciated if you have experienced this too.

Omgoodness!

It's been 2 days and she is not making her normal noises, she is produci g a weak squawking a few times a day when she used to shout her squawks several times a day in an almost deafening tone.

Anyone else ever experience anything like this?!?

Your bird could potentially have a viral or bacterial infection. Your bird may have picked up a disease that hasn't shown up yet also. You need your bird to be examined and tested to be safe.

Please use this Find an Avian Vet link to find an avian vet for your bird if you don't already have one.
