Cockatoo nesting

My cockatoo is sitting on an unfertilized egg that she laid about 3 days ago in the bottom of the cage. She's made a next of shredded newpaper. I'm worried that shees not eating. Should I just take the egg away? Thanks

As long as the egg is on her "nest" unbroken, don't take it from her.

Please measure the food you give her, then you will be able to tell if she is eating. Like, put 5 Harrison's pellets in the dish, then check later to see how many she ate.

She is probably eating when you are not looking. Please read the Chronic Egg Laying article written by an avian vet for more information on caring for birds that lay eggs.
