Cockatoo screaming and picking at legs

I have a sulfer crested cockatoo. He screams constantly since my husband has had to be home because of illness. He has even started to pick his feathers from his legs. I have thought I have tried everything. I really need some help. Thank you.

Bringing home our "new" baby
by: Laura

I have a friend who has a 16yr old Umbrella Cockatoo and can no longer keep her. My husband and I are adopting her and want to make the transition for her as stress free as possible. What would you suggest?

Screaming cockatoo
by: Tracie

It sounds like your bird is stressed. Cockatoos and African greys tend to get upset when things aren't "normal" to them.

You might try one of the feather plucking remedies and even read some of the articles on our Parrot Training page.
