Hi and thanks for writing. Your bird has an infection of some kind, and needs to be taken to an Avian Vet in your driving area immediately. Infections have to be diagnosed as to what kind of infection before they can be treated, so do not give your bird any over the counter meds especially those found in pet stores because until an avian vet has diagnosed type of infection, you will do more harm than good up to and including killing your bird.

Here is a link to help you Find an Avian Vet , and the local phone book would also work to find one closer to you.

If you find you'll have to drive a ways to get to an avian vet, please do so because dog and cat vets are not licensed or trained in the care of birds and will either do nothing and charge you a lot of money for it or will kill your bird with incorrect diagnosis and dosages of meds. Birds cannot be overloaded with antibiotics or any kind of drugs as they have no fat on their bodies, and all drugs go directly into liver to be processed which can and does cause liver failure.

Let us know how everything works out

Linda
