Cockatoo with reddish crop
Hi...my cockatoo escaped today out of her cage and chewed up the arm of my sofa...mostly the stuffing. I put her back in her cage and she drank and ate. She is very good about spitting out anything other than food so I don't think she swallowed any stuffing? I put her in her cage and she was very thirsty and drank a lot and then ate.
I noticed in a bit that she was preening and the feathers around her crop were parted. Her crop stuck out a bit and was reddish in color. She is pooping fine, acting fine...eating and drinking fine. We got home a bit ago and her crop is full of food. Earlier it felt like it may have been full of water. What is the normal color and appearance of a crop empty and full? Does it stick out when it is full, and is it red? I could find nothing on the internet to help me.
THANKS SO MUCH! Blessings!
