Cocketiel looks ruffled and hunched back much of the time

by Patrice
(Nebr.)

My female cockatiel looks puffed up and often looks like she has a hunchback, even tho she can then look smooth and sleek. Her dropping is very watery. I feed predominantly organic seed mixes and keep the water and food fresh at all times.

sick cockatiel
by: Tracie

It sounds like your Cockatiel is sick. You need to take your bird to see an avian vet asap. It is great that you are feeding organic seeds, but your bird will not live a healthy life on that diet.

Please read the article on Switching Birds to Pellets that our avian vet wrote.

Dr B suggests that you take your bird to see an avian vet and switch your birds to a healthy pellet diet like Harrison's.
