Cold air maharaja died ?

by Amir

I bought a south African grey parrot 8 months old and he didnt talk . After one week being in the house he looked different, like he has a cold he would do this thing his size would gett big, Bulky kinda.

I was leavin the country I returned it to the store and asked them to sell it for me after one day he called me and told me he died. And he showed me his ring on his leg as well it matched his. Could this be real that he died cuz he said your house was to cold that's why he died ? Is that real or b.s ?

ALL new birds have to be taken to an Avian Vet during the first few days we have them because most all of them have some kind of infection from being moved around so much. Being in a pet store around other birds also causes birds to get sick because these infections are highly contageous.

Birds have to be kept at a constant temperature of about 70 degrees F all the time night and day. If they suffer a 10 degree drop in temperature, they can die from pneumonia. They cannot be in any kind of draft from air vents either ceiling or floor or even a cross breeze in the summer. Drafts will kill birds as will undiagnosed and untreated sickness.

It sounds as if your bird was sick from the beginning, and because you did not take him to an Avian Vet or understand how critical a warmer home is to an exotic, tropical type bird, your bird is dead. Please learn what you are doing before getting another bird because they have special needs and one of them is to be taken to an Avian Vet when sick or injured. The fluffing up you described plus lack of energy are both signs of serious illness. Add a cold house to that, and you have a dead bird.
