cold or hot weather preference?

Originally, most of the parrots come from tropical rain forests with some coming from more arid regions. All of those places are quite hot with the rain forests being also high in humidity.

So, parrots do not prefer either hot or cold. All parrots have to be kept inside where they are kept at a moderate temperture. We keep our house around 71-72 in winter and 76 in summer. Make sure bird is not sitting either under or over air vents as this will create a draft that will make bird sick.

If ever building an outside aviary, you will need to build it with electricity for heat in winter plus good ventilation in summer. You'll also have to pipe it out from a concrete floor. Outdoor aviaries are very complicated and very expensive, so I recommend keeping your birds in the house and providing the largest cages possible for them.
