Conures and cold weather

I am sorry for your loss. I do not think you killed your bird by having the house too cold. Birds can adapt to gradual changes in temperature. If you can live in the house, and the house has some heat, then the birds can live in the house.

If you have a gas leak in your heating system, that would kill your bird. If your bird has not been seen by an avian vet, your bird may have died from a disease or illness. It could be any number of things that killed your bird. Many air fresheners, fumes from household cleaners etc. kill birds every day.

I suggest you take your bird to an avian vet for a necropsy to determine the cause of death. That way you don't bring home another bird and have it die the same way.
