I agree with anonymous. For the life of me, I don't understand why people take time to get on a computer to look for answers if they have an avian vet in their area, when a bird is showing serious signs of ill health.

Get your butt off the computer and get this little conure to an avian vet.

If you don't have the money, work something out with the vet. Most vets have a heart and won't refuse a sick bird.

Conure at bottom of cage

Hopefully by the time you checked this blog for answers to your question, you got your bird to the vet. Any time a bird is at the bottom of the cage with it's eyes closed means it is sick or dying. If that happened to my bird I wouldn't take the time to get on the computer and ask someone in cyberspace what to do. Each moment wasted is detrimental to your birds' health and well being. Hopefully, you got it to the vet in time.

Your bird needs to be seen by an avian vet right away. Please use this Find an Avian Vet link to find an avian vet for your bird so it can be examined to determine what is wrong and what the potential treatment might be.

It is possible it is sick, has a disease or has breathed or ingested something toxic. It could be egg bound if your bird is a female and does not eat a high quality pellet diet like Harrison's or Roudybush for 80% of it's diet.
