thanks for responding, i do not notice it all the time, however, he could do it while i am away i am sure, it looks as if he falls asleep and falls off and instantly, he looks around like "who knocked me off there? " lol and then he quickly climbs back up there and acts normal. i do know that our habitat has been changed alot lately with my daughter and son in law moving in with me while their home is being moved and they are louder, more disturbing lol than life was here before they were, it was always quiet, calm and relaxing and along with them came a dog and a cat and different hours and etc. i was wondering if any of that might have anything to do with it or the fact that i forgotto cover his cage a night or two.

Editor's note: I would still Find an Avian Vet because this is not normal and the bird could break a bone or bones.

This is NOT normal. Please Find an Avian Vet for your bird right away. Birds have hollow bones that break easily, so please move the perches, food and water to the lowest spot in the cage so it does not get hurt from falling.

Sometimes this happens from the bird breathing or chewing something toxic. If you use air fresheners or use any appliances that have Teflon, then this could be the cause. If the bird plays outside the cage, make sure it is not allowed to chew anything, stay with the bird at all times.

Even if you think this is from something toxic, you still need to get the bird to an avian vet right away, because it may need treatment to remove the toxin.
