Sexing birds
by: Anonymous

For birds where the male and female all look alike, testing can be done to sex them. Take bird to avian vet and tell them you wish to have test done so you know sex of your bird. As said previously, they will take a drop of blood with a draw or pull a blood feather and get the blood sample from there. Then they send it off to lab, or if equipped, may be able to do it there (usually has to be sent off to be analyzed). Getting the blood is quick and your little birdy will be a little upset and will get it over it very quickly.

You have to have it sexed by a lab. They need a blood feather or a sm drop of blood. Your vet can do it.
