Conureluv23 Dusky Conure

by Pauly
(PA)

I have a 1 yearold dusky conure and she is very sweetbut there were times when she started biting for no reason at all. Once for like a month she bite me nonstop but then she stopped. i think the biting is caused when the bird is bored of its enviroment or schedule. because when i started playing with Feliz with her swing when i held her-a new routine for my conure-she stopped biting. I mean it stopped. so I would try a new routine or a new enviroment for a while.

Toys have to be changed out once a month as the birds get bored with them. Ones that are not torn up can be recycled back into cage later.

The problems here may be caused from a physical problem, and I strongly suggest you take your bird to an Avian Vet in your driving area to check for infections or other physical problems.

Birds who do not feel well will become nippy and unreasonable, and this is because they are sick, so have him checked out.

Diet is also a very important aspect of good health with birds, and all parrots should be eating an organic pelleted diet. Tracie has several kinds out here, so you may wish to check them out. If your bird is on an all seed diet, then it is most likely sick and in need of medical services as seeds alone do not make a complete, healthy diet.

Let us know what the Avian Vet has to say and thanks for writing,
Linda
