Conures noise

All conures tend to be more noisy than some of the other parrots, though ALL parrots can be noisy and will be at least some of the time. Of course, some of the noise any parrot makes can be attributed to whether or not they are well taken care of with nice, big cages and toys they like. Toys have to be changed out once a month or at the least every two months. Toys can be cycled back in if they are not all torn up, but parrots get bored with the same old thing every day. All parrots have to have out of their cage time and preferably a playtop on their cages. Time out of cage has to be supervised to make sure they do not get hurt or in trouble. They also need a lot of time with their human flock members playing with them and teaching them new things.

So, as a basic answer to your question, yes Conures can be noisy, and I know from personal experience that a LOT OF SOUND can come out of their cute little bodies--much more than anyone would dream for such small birds. If noise is a factor where you are living, you'll need to go with one of the quieter species. As a warning though, ALL PARROTS have times when they just love to yell and make noise for the fun of it or when their people come home from work and/or school. If not taken care of properly, they can yell all the time until someone notices they need food, water or out of cage time. Neglected parrots become problems, and neglectful people will give them to the first person who will take them. The behavior of screaming is now a habit, and will take time and commitment to re-train this kind of bird. So, if noise is a major factor where you live, you need to get a little Budgie or two or a Canary or maybe some Finches all of which are nice birds who do not make much noise. Always try and get your little bird a buddy even if they are in separate cages which I recommend. It gets lonely when they are left all alone while their people go to work and school.
