Bird with beak injury
by: The Avian Vet

Maybe it will grow back depending on where the injury is. Your bird should have been seen by an avian veterinarian when this happened. Beak repair is very important to prevent infection and to make sure that the beak re-grows normally. In addition, this is a painful condition and the pain needs to be managed.

You need to take your bird in to see an avian veterinarian immediately. It is like having a child who falls and chips a tooth, but waiting to see a dentist for 3 weeks.

It may or may not grow back. What is the worry now is infection, and if you have not taken your bird to an Avian Vet to be checked out after this mutilation, you need to go now. Your bird is far too young to withstand an infection and will die. Make sure you do not put birds together who fight because this injury was preventable. In fact, I've never heard of a bird so young having such an injury. You are responsible for your bird's safety and well-being, so make sure you take care of this one or he may die from infection.

So, take bird to avian vet now to make sure it has no infection and the avian vet can talk with you about all the rest. People on the internet cannot tell you much becuase birds have to be seen in person by avian vets before any concrete facts can be given. Please get this bird to avian vet ONLY right away.
