Destiny & Shawna

I bought Shawna when she was 7 months old, She was hatched Fed of 1999, Then in Feb of 2000 my granddaughter was born, in Feb of 2002 Destiny was left on my doorstep. Shawna is a Blue/Gold Macaw. She never seen a baby before. And Destiny was 2 years old afraid of everything. could not talk. I had to teach Destiny how to talk, everything her mother should of done.

This is my Sons Child. So it was therapy Time for a macaw that was afraid of midget people and a Child that was afraid of everybody. Destiny was Feeding her Cereal Off her spoon. Lunch & dinner off of her plate. Destiny would not eat without Shawna. Destiny would Climb in Shawnas Cage and get on her Swing While Shawna Pulled her hair.

There grew a bond still today, Shawna is now 7 years old, Destiny is 8. Destiny reads her stories, and Destiny Sings Shawna sings with her. Its really Funny to Watch. And when there is a baby brought into the house shawna climbs off her cage and stands in front of the baby and just looks at the baby. It's been quite an experience and a great one. Children and Bird do work.
