Distance from oven to parakeet cage

by Dale
(Jacksonville FL)

all posts advise not to put a parakeet cage in the kitchen which makes sense, but none show how far away the cage should be. I just mainly use the top of the stove for a very short while, and the oven maybe two or three times a month. ( I like cooking outside) I have a one bedroom condo about 900 sq ft. I wanted to put the cage in the dining room about 10 - 15 ft from the oven. Would this be ok?

Yes, the dining room would be a very good idea. Kitchens are not a good place for birds because of the differences in temperature when cooking and sometimes smells can be harmful. Be careful using any teflon coated cookware and your bird should be fine in the dining room.
