Eclectus dent in beak

by Rodney

I'm wondering if you could help me. I'm looking at purchasing a baby female Eclectus but there seems to be a slight dent half way along her beak. It runs almost from one side to the other.

The bird is about 8 weeks old. Very healthy looking and friendly. Will the beak heal up as the bird gets older?
Your help is much appreciated.

Eclectus beak deformity
by: The Vet

I cannot say for sure without an exam, but often times beak defects will grow out and the beak will be normal. However, if there is a deformity or damage to the germinal portion of the beak, then it may always exhibit the defect.
