Eclectus hen with what appears to be chest bone sticking out

Hi I have an eclectus hen approx 6 months old and have noticed she has what appears to be a round bone the size of a small marble protruding from her chest area. You can only see it if her feathers are parted. She doesn't seem to be bothered by it but is this something I should be concerned about ?

There are two reasons this is like it is. One, there is a tumor there which will require the expertise of an Avian Vet ONLY to get a picture of it and see what needs to be done. The other reason is starvation. I've seen breast bones sticking out in baby birds who were weaned too soon or fed incorrectly from the beginning.

This is most assuredly something you need to be very concerned about. Make an appointment with an avian vet only as soon as possible to have this examined because this is not right, and though bird is showing no specific signs, remember birds will try to cover their pain and sickness until they are almost dead. The reason they do this is a sick or injured bird in the wild brings predators so flock either drives out the weaker bird or kills it on the spot. All parrots whether they are handfed babies or not are wild exotic animals and their behaviors are ingrained into their genetic code.

Take her to only an avian vet and do not wait any longer to do so because every moment wasted can mean your bird's life. No one on the internet can help you because this has to be examined in person by an avian vet.

You should see the vet. I'm not sure it's a bone...
