Eclectus or a Cockatoo for large family?

I am considering a parrot for a pet and have been researching the different birds.I have 3 children and 2 small dogs and wonder if an Eclectus or a Cockatoo is the better for a large family? any opinions? also,male vs. female? thanks!

I don't know much about the Eclectus but I do know that Cockatoo's can and usually are very noisy. I really wanted a cockatoo but instead chose an african grey because they do more talking than screaming. I have 3 children and the grey has fit perfectly into our family. Cockatoo's and Greys both have alot of feather dust so if anyone has allergies in your family that's another thing to consider. I prefer male's over females just because of the egg laying.
