The beauty about eclectus parrots
by: Anonymous

is how different they can be to other parrots. My eclectus's all do the same thing. (If it's the same thing I am thinking of). Eclectus parrots have their wings slightly out & sort of 'quiver' them. It sort of looks like begging. They will also face the direction they want to go when they do this. It is their way of wanting to go to a particular spot. It isn't begging, more aiming & wanting to go 'there', some follow through & others don't. If it's you he wants to go to, he will face you while shaking or quivering his wings. My eclectus's all do this as well & I call them & encourage them to follow through with this & fly to me. They do this successfully. Otherwise you can just walk over to yours & pick him up.

Bird flipping wings
by: Tracie

Dr B can not tell without examining your bird if there is something bothering your bird internally causing this behavior or if he is just expressing excitement or bothered by something in the room.

If your bird does this often throughout the day, please Find an Avian Vet to examine your bird in person, because it is not normal behavior.
