Feather plucking parrotlets

Hello, I recently adopted a pair of parrotlets. One is a blue male - beautiful - appears very healthy. Eats, chirps etc. His mate is a feather plucker - she is a sorry mess. Almost no feathers anywhere - except the top of her head and a few scraggly tail and wing feathers. She is either totally bald or covered with fuzzy down. She also acts like a healthy bird and doesn't appear ill at all. She can't fluff herself up if she is cold, but she does not appear to be shivering at all. She has had some trama in her short life. A bigger bird bite off one of her toes. This was about when the plucking started. She also was close to a conure and he now prefers the "human" lady who was their previous owner.

I have other parrotlets. I have put these two in isolation until I find out more about her condition. Could she have something that would spread to my other birds? I treated her for mites, and sprayed her with a bird bath product that seemed to help her skin look more comfortable.

What would you recommend? Are there products out there that might help?

Thank you,

Dr B can not help without examining your bird to determine if it has a disease, infection or illness. Please take the bird to an avian vet right away in case your bird has a disease that might pass on to your other birds.

Here is an article Dr B wrote: Feather Damaging Behavior article

Please use this Find an Avian Vet link to find an avian vet for your bird if you do not already have an avian vet.
